About Miss Jana Torres-Grau
BSc (Hons) MBChB FRCS (Plast)
Treating children and young people at Evelina London Children’s Hospital’.
About
Miss Jana Torres-Grau is a consultant paediatric plastic surgeon who treats children and young people, from newborn babies to teenagers. Based at Evelina London Children's Hospital, she assesses each child herself and carries out their surgery herself.
She trained in Bristol and then London, including a fellowship at Great Ormond Street, and she sees families in English and Spanish.
Across her practice she treats the conditions a child can be born with, reconstruction after injury or illness, and the removal of skin lumps and scars, so families with very different concerns are looked after by the same surgeon.
Meet Miss Torres-Grau
Miss Torres-Grau is a Consultant Paediatric Plastic Surgeon whose practice is dedicated entirely to children and young people.
Her background
Miss Torres-Grau qualified as a doctor at the University of Bristol in 2009. She then completed foundation and core surgical training before progressing into specialty training in plastic surgery, gaining experience across the breadth of the field, from burns and trauma to reconstruction for children born with a difference and repair after injury. Every place she worked added knowledge and technique she still uses today.
She became a consultant in 2021, and chose to focus her practice entirely on children and young people. Across her practice she treats conditions a child can be born with, reconstruction after injury or illness, and the removal of skin lumps and scars, so families with very different concerns are looked after by the same surgeon.
"I am passionate about caring for children. I know I can help, whether that is reassurance for a child and their family at a worrying time, or the bigger change that treatment can make, helping a child grow into a happy, confident person who can thrive."
More detail, when you need it

Her qualifications sit behind every consultation. After her medical degree at Bristol, she completed foundation and core surgical training, gained membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, and in 2020 she became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in plastic surgery, the FRCS (Plast).
In 2021 she completed a fellowship in craniofacial and general paediatric plastic surgery at Great Ormond Street Hospital.
Her training has also taken her abroad, with placements at Beth Israel in Boston, part of Harvard Medical School, and at the Cavadas Clinic in Valencia, which is known for complex reconstruction.
Children are not small adults, and Miss Torres-Grau treats them accordingly. She takes time to put a child at ease, explains things in a way a worried parent can follow, and is honest about what surgery can and cannot achieve.
Everything is kept confidential. The aim is always a calm, unhurried visit where a family leaves with a clear picture of their options, not more questions.
Hospital setting
Specialist care for children in a hospital designed around their needs, with the right expertise close at hand.
Miss Torres-Grau sees and treats children at Evelina London Children’s Hospital, a hospital built around children rather than adapted for them.
That matters most if anything is ever complicated, because a regulated children’s hospital has specialist children’s anaesthetists, a full multidisciplinary team, and intensive care on hand if it is ever needed. Most families never need to call on any of that, but it is the reason a serious case is safe in her hands.
It means she is rarely working alone. For straightforward treatment she looks after a child from start to finish, and for complex cases she has the right colleagues around her.

For every family
Families come to Miss Torres-Grau from across the UK and from overseas, including children whose care is arranged through an embassy or a government health scheme. Consultations are offered in both English and Spanish, which means Spanish-speaking families can talk through their child’s care in their own language.
A first appointment can be in person or online, so distance does not have to be a barrier to a first opinion.
